Shegerian Conniff, a Los Angeles based employment and personal injury law firm, has announced the filing of a lawsuit against The City of Bakersfield and former Bakersfield Fire Chief Douglas Greener alleging sexual battery, harassment, and discrimination.<\/p>\n

The plaintiff, listed as \u201cJane Doe\u201d to protect her identity, was forced to quit her job after coming forward with the allegations against Greener.\u00a0She had worked for the city for over 12 years.<\/p>\n

Doe claims Greener would follow her around the office and bump up against her, often putting his crotch against her buttocks, as well as brush his hands against her breasts and claim it was accidental.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Doe informed the city human resources department, however she feels they didn\u2019t believe her and ultimately transferred her to another department within the city where the work was unpleasant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She ultimately quit after the stress caused her to lose 40 pounds and her doctor put her on stress disability.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope Jane Doe having the strength to come forward will be empowering to other women who are subject to sexual harassment on the job,\u201d said Heather Conniff, partner at Shegerian Conniff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis type of behavior is unacceptable in any environment, and is worsened when committed by individuals in an authority role,\u201d added Conniff.<\/p>\n
