DoorDash Under Fire in New Lawsuit from Shegerian Conniff LLP Alleging Disability Discrimination and Retaliation

SAN DIEGO, CA, UNITED STATES, APRIL 15, 2026 — Shegerian Conniff LLP has filed a lawsuit on behalf of former DoorDash employee Lizbeth Barajas, who alleges she was subjected to disability discrimination, harassment, and retaliation that ultimately led to her wrongful termination.

Barajas was hired as a Strategic Merchant Lead in October 2023 and informed her managers of a serious jaw condition requiring surgery and medical leave. After being reassigned to a new manager, she alleges her work environment became hostile, marked by excessive micromanagement, unfair scrutiny, and ongoing harassment after disclosing her condition.

According to the complaint, Barajas was placed on a performance improvement plan just one day before her scheduled surgery and was denied reasonable accommodations upon returning to work. Despite later exceeding her performance goals, she was terminated shortly after filing a complaint of retaliation.

Barajas’ claims include disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She is seeking damages for lost wages and emotional distress.

“This case demonstrates the consequences of failing to support employees facing medical challenges,” said a representative of Shegerian Conniff LLP.

This case was filed in Los Angeles County under case numbers 25CU058839C.
