Senior Attorney

Isabella DeSisto is a Senior Associate at Shegerian Coniff LLP. She focuses her practice on employment litigation, with particular emphasis on sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, and gender discrimination matters.

Ms. DeSisto has extensive litigation experience handling hundreds of employment cases from inception through resolution. She regularly manages all stages of litigation, including written discovery, law and motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution. She has participated in numerous mediations on behalf of employees in complex workplace harassment and discrimination disputes and has helped secure significant recoveries for her clients, including a $2.19 million sexual harassment settlement and a $1.25 million sexual harassment settlement.

In addition to her mediation experience, Ms. DeSisto has taken and defended depositions in a wide range of employment matters and has successfully arbitrated a case through final resolution, further strengthening her advocacy in contested proceedings. Her litigation practice is focused on aggressively representing employees who have experienced unlawful workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DeSisto worked at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Legislative Advocates Office, where she conducted legislative and legal research on pending public safety bills. She also gained experience at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Awards

  • Ms. DeSisto received the Public Legal Services Society’s Executive Board Member of the Year Award, the Outstanding Student Service Award, and the Capital Commendation for Public Service Award in 2022.

Volunteer Work

  • In law school, Ms. DeSisto completed over 100 hours of volunteer work through the on campus non-profit orgoanization, the Public Legal Services Scoiety.
  • She served as President of the Public Legal Services Society her 2L year and sat on the Executive Board in her 3L year.

Education

  • Isabella graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Northridge, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2017.
    • During this time, her inclination toward advocacy would be formed as she took multiple law-focused classes.
    • Prior to attending law school, Ms. DeSisto volunteered with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, where she observed multiple trials and assisted in arraignment court.
  • In May of 2022, Ms. DeSisto graduated from McGeorge School of Law with a concentration in Trial Advocacy.
  • While at McGeorge, Ms. DeSisto was heavily involved in on campus organizations. She served as Vice President of the Criminal Law Society and as President and Executive Board Member of the Public Legal Services Society, a non-profit on campus organization which is dedicated to serving the community.
