Alex Alcala
Post Bar Law Clerk
Alexandria Alcala is a Post Bar Law Clerk for Shegerian Conniff LLP. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine. After graduating, she worked in personal injury law for several years, where she served as a Lead Case Manager and helped clients navigate difficult circumstances and the legal process following an injury.
Ms. Alcala earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School with a concentration in Civil Litigation and Advocacy. During law school, Ms. Alcala gained experience across different areas of law. She worked with Jenesse Center, where she assisted survivors of domestic violence with family law and immigration-related matters. She also worked at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP, a global immigration law firm, where she gained experience handling business immigration matters for multinational companies. During her last semester, she joined Shegerian Conniff LLP as a Certified Law Clerk, where she further developed her interest and passion for employment law.
Ms. Alcala is committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate, and zealous advocacy to clients.
Awards/Recognitions

In 2025, Ms. Alcala was awarded the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Foundation’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg Scholarship, the Larraine Segil Strategic Alliance Scholarship, and a Southwestern Law School Alumni Association Scholarship. Ms. Alcala also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest grade in Southwestern Law School’s Community Lawyering Clinic.

While serving in Southwestern Law School’s Trial Advocacy Honors Program, Ms. Alcala and her team were finalists at the 2025 San Diego Defense Lawyers Trial Competition.

In 2024, Ms. Alcala received Southwestern Law School’s Public Interest Law Committee Summer Grant, which supported her non-profit work with the Jenesse Center.

Ms. Alcala graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2018 earning two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Social Behavior and Criminology, Law and Society.

In May of 2026, Ms. Alcala earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School with a concentration in Civil Litigation and Advocacy.
Volunteer Work

During law school, Ms. Alcala served as Chair of the Trial Advocacy Honors Program and served as Co-President of the Women’s Law Association.
- As a Dean’s Fellow, Ms. Alcala mentored first-year law students and led review sessions and academic support programming.

Through Southwestern’s Community Lawyering Clinic, Ms. Alcala worked with community members on legal matters and participated in community education efforts, including hosting a “Know Your Rights” presentation. She continued her work at the clinic her 3L year by serving as a Teaching Assistant.

Ms. Alcala also served as Treasurer of the First Generation Law Student Association during her 2L year and as a mentor with LEAP, where she mentored students navigating the law school application process.
